Robots at a Danish company sort textile waste based on material composition and colour identification using near-infrared (NIR) sensors and cameras, a part of which is then converted into recycled fibres and yarns suitable for production of new garments.

US Upland cotton sales at 93,000 bales, Pima totals 8,200 bales: USDA

For the 2024-25 season, the US sold 93,000 bales of Upland cotton, with top buyers being Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. Exports totaled 168,800 bales, mainly to Vietnam, Pakistan, and China. Pima cotton sales were 8,200 bales, primarily purchased by India and Peru. The USDA also noted 979,900 bales of Upland cotton carried over from last season.
